Mahlon F. Craft

Mahlon F. Craft has lived in the arts world his entire life. He first worked as an award winning Advertising Art Director/Graphic Designer in the 1960’s and then as an Independent Photographer in the 1970’s. Graphic Design and Creative Writing became more important in the 1990’s as he began to design children’s books and work as an Author. His retelling of Sleeping Beauty for SeaStar Books was his first published work. Contracts for two more followed, one of which is an original story. Both are in progress. Photography has remained a constant interest. Outputting his photographs on ink jet printers opened up new creative opportunities in the 2000’s resulting in his solo exhibition at the Norfolk Library in 2009. He is a 1963 graduate of The Art Academy of Cincinnati, with a year and a half of post graduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
