Harvey Kimmelman

Harvey Kimmelman started his art training in New York City, attending the High School of Art & Design. Although sidetracked by a career as an advertising art director, he continued to pursue fine art. In the 1970’s, he studied drawing with Joan Mitchell Blumenthal, drawing & anatomy with Robert Beverly Hale at the Art Student’s League, and anatomy with Steven Rogers Peck. His deep interest in drawing the human figure led him to study sculpture at the National Academy of Design. Harvey put fine art aside in the 1980’s when he opened his own advertising/sales promotion company. After a long hiatus, he discovered a life drawing group in Torrington, CT and began drawing again. In 2005, he attended a workshop in Italy to learn fresco painting, and most recently has been painting landscapes and Italian scenes in watercolor.
