Karen Linden began her study of art as a child with Barbara Lang in the tobacco growing Connecticut River Valley. Concentrating on art at Bay Path College, she studied with Frank Hart, and with Hermine Magnus, both portraitists. After receiving a BFA from the University of Minnesota, she began exhibiting with The Little House Art Guild, the Barbara Felderman Gallery, and juried and open art shows. After a career in commercial art, Linden is once again focusing on alla prima oil sketches and paintings.
