Janet K. Marks has always had a passion for unique design and creativity. She implements this into her handmade jewelry in silver and gold making each link by hand, often incorporating individually selected precious and semiprecious stones into her designs. She loves finding solutions to the challenges of creating one of a kind pieces of jewelry. Janet studied Silversmithing at The DeCordova Museum in Lincoln, MA for many years with Florence Hollingsworth and Hal Robinson and learned the challenges, techniques and beauty of working directly with the metal. Pieces of her raised silver hollowware and jewelry were featured in juried shows at the DeCordova. She has Certificates in Gemology from GIA in Colored Stones and Pearls. While teaching in different east coast cities, she continued to explore her interests in art, architecture, color and design. Janet’s most recent degree is in Interior Design and Color Theory. She resides in Norfolk, CT.
