Nina Ritson
Nina Mascetti Ritson approaches her subjects both as an intaglio printmaker and a painter by dividing her time between watercolor and etching. “I learn so much about my subject by painting it, then by creating a plate and working the etching in inks. The results are always wonderfully different.” Her landscapes of the Berkshire and Northwest Connecticut area are soft and subtle, but recently she has been studying old family photographs that tell a story of a much simpler time - this she works to bring to life when etched in copper and zinc. She earned her BFA in Printmaking summa cum laude at Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. She is a member of Housatonic Art League, Kent Art Association and Connecticut Watercolor Society. She is in numerous shows and collections, and has won many awards in juried exhibitions. She resides in Norfolk, Connecticut.
