Nov-Dec. 2011 Susan Dorazio, "Watercolors and Oil Paintings". Dorazio will be the featured guest artist at the Norfolk Artists Guild in Norfolk, CT. Opening reception to be announced.
Ronald Sloan's painting titled "The Magnet" has been chosen to be in an exhibit, starting September 18th, at the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, VA. The show includes work of the past three centuries of self taught artists. "The Magnet" is part of the Barron and Ellen Gordon collection at the Old Dominion University Gallery.

Ronald Sloan has had four of his artworks acquired by the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD for their permanent collection. Also, Ronald Sloan has been awarded a $100 prize in the Artwell Gallery juried show in Torrington, CT for his painting titled "Saving Hope". The opening is July 23 6-9 PM.

Kinuko Craft will be Artist Guest of Honor at Norwescon, a Science Fiction-Fantasy convention in Seatte, WA, April 21-24, 2011. She will give an hour long presentation on her work, participate in several discussion panels and display work in the convention art exhibit.

2010
Ronald Sloan has been awarded the Torrington Savings Bank Gavel Award of $150 for his painting "Homage to Ben" (which is for Ben Shahn), in the Artwell Gallery Annual juried show. It opens Saturday, July 24th, 6-9PM.
Bruce Hanke's portrait of his son has won inclusion in the 2010 BP Portrait Award at The National Portrait Gallery in London. The exhibit runs from June 24 to September 19, 2010. Works have also been published on The National Portrait Gallery’s website, BP Portrait Awards 2010 Catalogue, and in Direct Art Magazine and The Artist’s Magazine.
The reopening of the Richard Byrd Library in Springfield , VA July 22, 2010 features a weathervane made by John Garret Thew. The vane he created for the library is a scaled down Ford Tri-motor, the plane Byrd flew over the SouthPole Novermer 28, 1929 The program published for the Grand Reopening contains a photo of Thew building the weathervane.
Leslie Watkins recently designed a tromp l'oeil mosaic mural for Norfolk residence, "Blueberry Hill". It depicts a basket of flowers and vegetables on a window sill, with a view of Haystack Mountain in the distance.
Turi Rostad is working on a wall mural project at the Botelle School. It depicts local flora and fauna, and will be completed this fall.The mural is a gift from the graduating class of 2010 to the school.
Katherine Griswold's photographs have been published in a book, called "Seasons of Connecticut", by Diane Smith and published by Globe Pequot Press. The photographs were taken in and around Norfolk, and are available on her website. The book is available from amazon.com or your local bookstore.
